With a long list of local awards and a Zagat rating 7 years running, K Restaurant definitely has a reputation that precedes itself. That’s why when I recently headed over for a nice dinner with the hubby I was super excited for the opportunity to see what all the fuss was about. Well let me tell you it was well worth the visit. This place had character and charm and yes as expected, fabulous cuisine!
The restaurant is located in College Park in a freestanding building that was most likely once a house. There is a great wraparound porch for outdoor eating and inside there are several small dinning rooms and a bar. The rooms and bar showcase warm wood, work displayed from local artists and, in the main room, a red brick fireplace.
As for the food, well it was just scrumptious! My eggplant parmesan was a multilayered delight of cheese and breaded veggie with a sauce so fresh it must have been made from tomatoes straight out of the garden. The fried green tomatoes are also another must try when you go! I know I know, I sound like a freak that has an obsession for all things tomato. But I just can’t help it, it all tasted soooo good! Even my husbands mac n’ cheese dish was outstanding . . . something so simple yet so good!! There’s no question that Craft ain’t got nothing on this place!
