The Spa: College Park Pampering

The Spa in College Park recently invited AMPlified Culture and a few other bloggers to stop by and sample their services and amenities. I’m not a girl who ever turns down an evening of relaxation so I was more than thrilled for the chance to try out this local beauty spot.

My time at The Spa was truly a pleasurable one.  I arrived to a friendly staff, was offered a beverage while waiting for my services to begin (I chose a mimosa to help me unwind)  and my massage was one I would definitely book again.

The facility is not overly fancy but very nicely put together. As I walked around I also couldn’t help but take note of all the gorgeous wall paper they use in the rooms. The spa has 8 treatment rooms along with a pedicure and manicure area, an infrared sauna, a reflexology room, a Dermalogica Skin Bar, a hot tub and outdoor cabana area, and a unique offering— a sleep room which clients can book before or after their services to ensure they reach that full zen state!

My massage was absolutely fabulous. I do have to state one gripe though. When I was first taken to my room it was stifling which had me worried a bit as I tend to overheat quickly; a hot massage for me is not a pleasant one. However, I mentioned this to my massage therapist Felipe and he was quick to go out and fix the temperature problem. After that it was smooth sailing.

Felipe offered a unique massage from anything I’ve had before. He asked if it was ok to add in some stretching to the standard massage, after I mentioned being a little tight. The combination of massaging my muscles and then stretching them was wonderful! I felt like jello! I literally could feel my body becoming more and more relaxed as the hour went on. I also contributed this massive relaxation to a technique he used which I took to be similar to Reiki. I asked him about it after the massage and he mentioned it was something similar but I still had massage brain going on and I can’t quite remember what he referenced. Needless to say it was fabulous and I’d recommend him to anyone.

I also spoke to a few of the other blogger who had services and they seemed to be just as blissed out as I was. I know one girl even mentioned  her pedicure service was one of the best pedicures she’d ever had.

You can check out a few photos I snapped during my visit, along with a short video highlighting The Spa’s services below.

Also a few fun items I found out about while at The Spa:

  • If you’re someone who likes to enjoy services on a regular basis you should definitely check out The Spa’s Half Off Club. They offer awesome discounts on services if you join.
  • You should also check out the special Spa Happy Hour events that The Spa holds several times throughout the year. The next one is January 25th and is all about chocolate. Yum!
