Paxia: Mod Mexican takes on College Park

By in Cuisine on February 14, 2011

Last week when we met with the ladies of GalTime they asked if we knew of any good Mexican restaurants in the area. We were kind of embarrassed to admit that we didn’t. You couldn’t expect that we could continue on with our lives without finding a great Mexican restaurant in Orlando so we found Paxia.

This College Park Restaurant has an extensive menu, including an awesome Sunday Brunch, with traditional Mexican foods and added flare. The food was beautiful as well as absolutely delicious. The guacamole is the best I have had in Central Florida. Possibly the best I’ve had ever.

To add to the awesomeness that is Paxia, the decor and ambiance are just as impressive as the food presentation. Whether you are relaxing in their Tequila Lounge or enjoying Sunday Brunch on the restaurant side, you’ll be very pleased. Need proof? Check out our photo gallery!

Thanks for the tip on Paxia!

We went this weekend, and LOVED it. The food was outstanding, and the red Sangria was affordable and delicious. If I were able to change one thing about the place, it would be the spiral bowls in which they serve tortilla chips – they're just too large and clunky on those small tables. I like the presentation, but you have to reach down in them for chips.

    Love the pics!

Monday night (7pm-9pm) is Ladies Night. Girls drink free margaritas — as many as they want!

I go with my girlfriend and buy my own while she guzzles down pitchers.

Thanks for the recommendation- the food certainly looks great. And if the only complaint about a restaurant is that the tortilla bowls are too large it suggests that it’s a pretty exceptional place! It’s good to hear that the sangria was affordable too- restaurants can really go down in my estimation if they over price the drinks menu but claim that the food is good value. I’d always rather pay for what the food is worth and know that I’m not being ripped off in other areas of the menu. It’s often hard to find a quality Mexican restaurant- all too often they’re very generic and don’t have a good grasp of the real essence of the cuisine. From the pictures, Paxia looks to be breaking the mould though with its individual decor and great food. Definitely somewhere I’d like to visit if I get the chance!

Yeah, you’re absolutely right! The place is impressive and a perfect place to hang out with. And the food simply delicious. I can’t wait to try and be there one day with my peers.

That is such a fine meal. But if there's one thing I hate the most about fine dining it's that I eat and eat less and paying more than what I get in return.
