This past week I had the pleasure of sampling the new spring menu at Seasons 52. Myself, along with a few other local bloggers and writers were invited to the restaurant’s Altamonte Springs’ location for a tasting dinner that showcased their delicious seasonal additions.
If by some chance you have not yet had the opportunity to enjoy a meal at Seasons 52, I have to say that you are missing out on one great experience. This restaurant truly serves up a standard that you don’t often see, and does so consistently.
Their atmosphere has a casual yet warm sophistication that always leaves me feeling relaxed the second I step inside. Even more impressive, the food is extremely flavorful and fresh and surprising healthy. All of their meals are less than 475 calories, and before you can even think it, let me stop you — no it’s not because they serve miniature portions. Rather, it’s because no butter is used in the preparation of any of their dishes and instead the chef’s use their knowledge of cooking techniques and seasoning, along with quality ingredients, to create meals that excite the palate. As the restaurant name suggests, dishes are made with seasonally fresh ingredients and to get you even more excited, they only use organic vegetables.
The restaurant also knows what they’re doing when it comes to wine. They offer around 60 different wines by the glass and even more importantly, they have in their back pocket a master sommelier, one of only 180 in the world, to select the best wines for their menu. Considering all of the above, along with the knowledgeable, attentive and pleasant staff, Seasons 52 makes a great choice for a romantic night out or dinner with friends and family. I’ve enjoyed meals their for all of the above, and I’ve always left completely satisfied.
At the recent tasting we got to enjoy more than our fill of fabulous dishes and every bite was beautifully complex and delicious! Check out the list of new menu items we got to sample below (all but the Tiger Shrimp Penne Pasta), as well as a few photos of the evening. While I loved everything, I’d say my recommendations would be the Artichoke & Goat Cheese Flatbread and the Steelhead Trout. The truffle mashed potatoes were also to die for — I helped myself to like 3 servings!
