Palmano’s Trattoria and Wine Bar is a wonderful little cafe in Winter Park, that definitely needs to be added to your list of perfect places for weekend relaxing. The space, located near the corner of Park Ave and Lyman Ave, just has a great laid-back atmosphere that calls to patrons from the street-at least it did to me. When you walk by the restaurant, you see customers lounging and eating outside on their sidewalk seating, and the shop leaves their door open so when you walk by you get the urge to peak in and see what’s going on.
The decor has a “little Italy” inspired vibe, with a red and white color scheme, dark woods and checkered wicker chairs and table cloths. Although the inside of the restaurant is modest in size, it’s cozy and it isn’t all that Palmano’s has to offer. They have an absolutely beautiful courtyard with a fountain and canopy out back! It’s huge and another plus for me, very quiet. When the heat dies down a bit I definitely want to enjoy a few meals out there.
Over the past month or so Laura and I have stopped by the cafe several times to get our coffee fix and enjoy a quick bite to eat. We’ve had the chance to sample both their breakfast and lunch dishes (they only server dinner on Thursdays and Fridays), and we’ve loved it all! The Caleigh that I had, a Panini with eggplant, feta, pesto and red peppers, was absolutely delicious, and Laura can’t seem to get enough of the restaurants breakfast fruit wrap. The peanut butter, apples, bananas, berries, honey and cinnamon grilled and pressed is just absolutely delightful! It’s so good, it’s actually the only thing she has tried because she can’t bring herself to deviate from perfection! This place is definitely worth trying out!
A few things to mention, if you do head over to Palmano’s:
-Make sure that your computer either stays at home or that you are ready to eat outside with it. Palmano’s does not allow computers in their inside dining area.
-You order your food at the counter and then it is brought out to you. On both of our visits, our meals didn’t come out together (just a few minutes apart- no big deal). I think this issue could probably be alleviated by ordering your food together on the same ticket, but Laura and I like to pay separately.

Love me some italian! This place looks adorable, especially their outside seating!!
