Last week we mentioned the Yelp Shops Local Pledge and promised that from now till Christmas we’d bring you tons of deets on great local places to do your gift shopping this holiday season. Well we’re starting off our list today with one of our favs, Artistree Co-op in College Park.
I just absolutely love this place! Gift giving can sometimes be a challenge (I never know what to get my somewhat hard to please family members/friends) but Artistree Co-op makes it easy. This gift boutique and art gallery is filled with handcrafted locally made jewelry, body products, aprons, scarfs, purses, pottery, artwork and other gifts. Everywhere you turn there are beautiful one-of-a-kind items; you never have to worry about whether your gift receiver will already have one of what you’ve purchased them.
I also love this shop because it shares building space with one of our favorite local restaurants, Infusion Tea. Not only can you stop in to grab a few fabulous gifts but when you’re done you can stay and relax with a warm cup of tea and a delicious meal. You can actually read about how the owners of Infusion Tea helped start this great local shop and how it has evolved into what it is today, on the Artistree Co-op website.
Their original mission of promoting our community and the individuals in it is still going strong and it’s one that we hope you’ll help support this holiday season. Rather than standing in lines at the mall this coming Black Friday, take a break and stop in to this adorable local shop. I should warn you though — be prepared to not only walk out of this place with a few gifts but also some fabulous items for yourself. The stuff is just to cute to pass up!
