Citrus Restaurant: Downtown Dining at its Finest

Outstanding was the word of the evening during my recent visit to downtown Orlando’s Citrus Restaurant.  My hubby and I were celebrating my birthday with a night out on the town, and I wanted a place with a little style, great food, and wonderful service. After the meal we encounter while at Citrus, there is absolutely no question that they excel at all three.

The restaurant has a warm sophisticated urban style with both inside and outdoor seating. The inside has contemporary decore featuring browns and oranges with dark rich woods, and the outdoor patio has a laid-back vibe that is just perfect if you are looking to hang with friends while having a few appetizers and drinks.

During our meal we had two great servers assigned to our table and they were attentive, friendly, and knowledgable. I also loved that when we first sat down they made a point to ask if we were celebrating any special occasions. The fact that they took the time to be mindful of a patron’s personal celebration shows the quality of their customer service. When I told them it was my birthday, they gave me well-wishes, chatted with us briefly, and at the end of our dinner we found that the dessert we ordered had been comped as a little birthday treat from Citrus to me.

As for the rest of our food, it was absolutely delicious! Their menu consists of mainly seafood, chicken, and steak and everything is beautifully presented. For our appetizer we chose the Shrimp and Lobster Fritters, and for our entrees I had the Pomegranate Glazed Salmon, and my husband had the Passion Fruit Flat Iron Chicken. Seriously a great dinner!

So what is dinner at a top notch place like Citrus going to set you back? Well, if you’re wanting a full meal like we had, with drinks, appetizer, full entrees, and dessert, it will probably cost you around $100 or so. Appetizers start at $12 and entrees at $22.  Yes it is on the high end, but the dining experience you encounter is definitely in line with the cost.

The restaurant also has another added bonus that only further solidified to me the fabulousness that is Citrus Restaurant. I noticed when we were served our wine that the restaurant’s wine glasses are marked with their motto. To my delight I saw that it just happens to be  ”Eat, Drink, & Be Local”. What a wonderful surprise! It seems that the AMPlified Culture ladies and Citrus Restaurant have a lot in common. I think it must be Kismet!
